R&D Lead: Orchestrating Culinary Excellence and Technical Mastery in South & Central Asia Business Unit

About The Position

The main purpose of the function is the technical delivery of innovations/renovation in South & Central Asia Business Unit on time in full, ensuring full applicable regulatory, quality, Halal and Food safety compliance of food product, packaging and labeling. He/she provides local technical input/insights into innovation projects to R&D, key Business Unit partners and external stakeholders (suppliers). He/she also supports the Business Unit, in activation of new/rejuvenated product launches where close teamwork is required with all relevant stakeholders.The incumbent as a Technical Product Leader who will lead and land innovation/renovation/cost saving projects. As part of the RD Global team, incumbent is involved in projects either as a leading Manager or part of the team member. He/She have a responsibility on landing RD initiatives, program on ground.As a key RD Person in Sri Lanka, incumbent is a key person that interacts with the all relevant stakeholders on delivery of approved projects.

• Technical Mastery: Demonstrated expertise in food science, particularly in plant-based food technology, covering a variety of products. This knowledge underpins effective decision-making and guidance throughout the product development process.
• Project Leadership: Proven ability to lead intricate projects from inception to completion, serving as the focal point for technical aspects and maintaining transparent communication with stakeholders.
• Innovative Thinking: A proactive, creative thinker capable of offering innovative ideas for new product development. This includes problem-solving and addressing technical challenges in unique ways.
• Collaborative Team Player: Thrives within a collaborative, global framework, working seamlessly with departments like R&D, marketing, supply chain, and regulatory affairs. A positive attitude and strong communication skills facilitate effective teamwork.
• Quality and Compliance Focus: Maintains an unwavering commitment to quality and food safety compliance throughout the product development lifecycle. Ensures projects adhere to regulatory, quality, and halal standards while driving success.
