Job Title: Merchandiser

Salary: LKR 100,000 Above

Position Summary:

This position is integral to the success of PVH affiliates, particularly those involved in brand strategy, product development, and innovation for Tommy Hilfiger products sold across the EU, NA, Asia, and SA regions. Specifically, it supports the operational and strategic needs of PVH-related parties by ensuring the seamless development and bulk order execution for the brand. The role involves close collaboration with various teams and provides assistance to the senior merchandiser in executing day-to-day operations aligned with the brand’s strategy to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs). The position demands specialized knowledge in women’s underwear and lingerie products.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  1. Merchandising Activities:
    • Manage daily merchandising activities related to product development and bulk orders.
    • Ensure timely execution of sample development and bulk delivery tracking.
    • Assist in the follow-up on the execution of bulk production, including trims, fabric production schedules, and delivery status.
  2. Product Development, Costing, and Production:
    • Possess sound knowledge of product development, costing, and production processes.
    • Conduct preliminary cost analysis with vendors, leveraging knowledge of yields, consumptions, etc.
    • Oversee the production process, ensuring adherence to quality and delivery timelines.
  3. Communication and Coordination:
    • Maintain effective communication with vendors, cross-functional teams, and regional teams.
    • Build and nurture relationships with internal business counterparts, material suppliers, colorists, technical teams, and quality assurance teams.
  4. Sample and Bulk Delivery Tracking:
    • Track the progress of sample development and bulk orders to ensure timely delivery.
    • Manage work-in-progress (WIP) effectively, ensuring all milestones are met.
  5. Data Management:
    • Perform system data entry accurately and timely.
    • Utilize systems for tracking and managing production and delivery schedules.
  6. Knowledge and Expertise:
    • Demonstrate strong knowledge of embellishments such as embroidery and prints.
    • Possess industrial washing knowledge as an additional advantage.

Internal & External Contacts:

  • Internal Contacts: Collaborate with other business counterparts, material suppliers, colorists, technical teams, and QA teams within the region.
  • External Contacts: Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.

  • Make informed decisions that serve the best interests of the brand and corporate objectives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: University degree with 3-4 years of related work experience; or post-secondary degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience in apparel.
  • Experience: Experience in a buying/trading office or manufacturing environment is essential.

Skills:

  • Strong expertise in product and bulk operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A good team player who collaborates effectively toward deadlines and deliverables.
  • Ability to build and maintain good working relationships.
