About the Job:
BAT Sri Lanka is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Executive to join our dynamic Operations – Logistics team in Colombo. As a part of our evolving organization, the Warehouse Executive will play a crucial role in managing the efficient flow of Finished Goods (FG) to distributors, ensuring compliance with BAT’s standards, and supporting the overall supply chain process. Role Positioning and Objectives:
The Warehouse Executive will assist the Assistant Manager of Customer Services in efficiently issuing Finished Goods to distributors in alignment with orders received from Marketing. The role requires maintaining adherence to BAT’s recommended pest and hygiene standards, warehouse best practices, and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations / Professional / Business:
- Stock Management:
- Receive stocks from the Supply Chain Management Department (SMD) and issue stocks, ensuring First-In-First-Out (FIFO) rotation to distributors.
- Maintain 100% stock accuracy in the Finished Goods (FG) Warehouse.
- Ensure 100% On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) stock availability in the market by managing stock levels in the Colombo and Kandy FG warehouses.
- Manage the shelf life of Finished Goods in both warehouses.
- Oversee Material Requirements Planning (MRP) changeovers of Finished Goods in warehouses.
- Logistics Operations:
- Oversee Secondary Logistics Operations of CTC, including managing FG & Returnable Distribution Logistics (RDL) truck fleet.
- Implement and maintain International Warehouse Standards (IWS) within Logistics.
- Provide periodic reports/updates to key stakeholders on FG stocks as required.
Leadership:
- Team Leadership:
- Provide effective leadership to FG warehouse teams to achieve departmental objectives.
- Acquire comprehensive knowledge of SAP transactions to guide and train team members.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external key stakeholders and service providers.
- Enhance the skills of Third-Party Logistics (3PL) handlers and align their knowledge on operational best practices through training and guidance.
Innovation:
- Performance Improvement:
- Take ownership of performance improvements and quality-related activities in the process.
- Proactively identify gaps and improvement opportunities within the warehouse operations.
Key Success Factors:
- Operational Efficiency:
- Achieve key KPIs of the warehouse operation, supporting People Safety and Environmental KPIs.
- Ensure 100% On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) sale of Finished Goods to distributors and FG transfers from Colombo to Kandy.
- Drive towards zero major accidents in the CTC Finished Goods Warehouse (FG WH) by emphasizing EHS best practices.
- Knowledge and Compliance:
- Possess knowledge in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Pest & Hygiene Management (P&HM) Guidelines, BAT Best Practices, and local regulatory requirements applicable.
Essential Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience:
- Demonstrated team leadership capabilities with strong collaborative and influencing skills.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement with internal and key external authorities, contractors, etc.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines and BAT Best Practices, as well as local regulatory requirements applicable.
- Proficiency in SAP and other warehouse management systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
